Dear Morgan Families,

We look forward to welcoming our Morgan families to campus this week! Parent‑Teacher Conference Night will take place on Tuesday, February 24, from 4:30–7:30 PM. We strongly encourage all families to attend and meet with teachers to discuss your child’s academic progress and success.

During conference night, our Media Center will be open for families who would like:

Assistance with Canvas or FOCUS accounts

Help navigating our digital platforms

Information about the resources available in the Media Center

Support staying connected to your child’s learning

In addition, this week we are celebrating Black History Month with Spirit Week. We encourage all students to participate and show their school pride. Please refer to the school calendar for daily spirit week themes.

To close out the week, we invite our families and community to join us for our Black History Month Celebration Show on Friday, February 27, at 7:00 PM in the auditorium. This event will highlight student performances and honor the contributions and achievements of Black leaders and culture.

Parents and guardians can now report student absences online at any time using our convenient Absence Reporting Form.

Please note the following guidelines:

Absences reported after 7:00 AM on the day of the absence may not update records before the start of school. However, all absences will still generate an automated notification.

Absences must be reported within 48 hours of the missed school day to be reflected in attendance records.

Submitting the form does not guarantee the absence will be excused. Families may use the form for up to 6 excused absences per school year. After that, a doctor’s or professional note is required.

Supporting documentation (e.g., doctor’s note, funeral program, court request, military forms) must be uploaded to the Focus Parent App or delivered directly to the school.

When completing the form, please include your child’s full name and student ID to ensure accurate processing.

All Morgan students should now have their student ID card. IDs must be visible at all times while on campus.

• Need a replacement? Visit the office—replacements are $5.

• Lunch lines move faster when students use the barcode on their ID to scan.

• All school events moving forward will require an ID for entry.
