6th grade visits Nature's Classroom |
|
|
|
All Hillsborough County Public School 6th grade students attend Nature’s Classroom. This 3-day field study includes the following lessons: Shoreline sampling, River exploration, Visiting the live animal center, Orienteering Students to using a compass & a map, checking out the animal compound, Ecosystem Exploration, and Survival on basic human needs such as food, water, shelter/space, & oxygen).
For many students, this multi-day environmental field study will be their first chance to explore the real Florida wilderness. Their memorable experiences build the foundation of responsible stewardship. Our mission is to plant the seeds of conservation through hands-on environmental education and to create lifelong guardians of nature.

What a memorable send-off for our 8th graders! 🎉 Their final big event included an awards ceremony followed by a celebratory dance.
A heartfelt thank you to all the parents who came out to support and cheer on their students—it meant so much. And a special shoutout to Ms. Reynolds and the entire 8th grade team for creating such a meaningful and fun experience.
The students truly showed up and showed out—they were dressed to celebrate and made the night unforgettable!

Beginning Tuesday, March 24th, DMMS will be using the district's new tardy management system. With every five unexcused tardies (cumulative over all class periods), students will automatically be assigned a referral with a consequence. Consequences increase as tardies continue.
For most of our students, this will not have any impact on them, however, we want to promote RESPONSIBILITY in our students by promoting the importance of being on time. Assistant principals will contact families when these referrals occur, but you can also see your student's attendance and tardies through the parent Focus portal.
New TARDY POLICY was presented to students on Tuesday, 3/24.
