A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL & ASST PRINCIPAL

.

Dear Pride Families,

We’ve officially begun the fourth quarter—the home stretch of the school year! This is not the time to slow down, but a time to keep our heads up and our eyes focused as we finish strong together. Our expectations, rules, and procedures remain the same, and we appreciate everyone’s continued commitment to doing their best each day.

A huge thank you to the many students who consistently arrive on time and in uniform, make positive choices, show kindness to others, and give their best effort. Your hard work does not go unnoticed!

Our campus will be jumping this week with lots of exciting events. Please join us in wishing Mrs. Tkacik a belated Happy National Librarian’s Day- be sure to tell her how fantastic she is when you visit the Book Fair, happening this week in the Media Center. We are also thrilled to celebrate Mrs. Moncrief all week for Assistant Principal Appreciation Week. We truly can’t imagine Pride Elementary without her leadership and heart!

And don’t forget, PTA’s Spring Festival is this Friday! We hope to see all of our Pride families there for a fun evening together.

Let’s keep the momentum going, Pride Lions! 🦁

Yo-ho-ho and onward we go!

PTA EXECTUTIVE BOARD NOMINATIONS

🌟 Want to Make a Difference at Pride? Join Our PTA Executive Board! 🌟

Are you looking for a meaningful way to get involved at Pride Elementary and help shape our school community? The Pride Elementary PTA is now accepting nominations for the 2026–2027 Executive Board, and we’d love to see you (or someone you know!) step into a leadership role!

PTA board members play an important role in supporting our students, staff, and school events-and no prior experience is required, just a willingness to help and collaborate. Positions include President, Vice President (1 & 2), Treasurer, and Recording Secretary. If serving on the board isn’t the right fit, there are also many committee opportunities to get involved behind the scenes.

If you’re interested (or would like to nominate someone with their permission), please complete the PTA Nominating Form and return it by Tuesday, April 14, 2026. Forms may be emailed or dropped off at the front office. Let’s work together to continue making Pride an amazing place for our students and families! 💙🦁

REQUIRED INSTRUCTION PHYSICAL EDUCATION

The State Board of Education requires every Florida school district under F.S. 1003.42(o), 1003.46, and our school board policy 2147 to provide instruction about human trafficking, mental health, water safety, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), reproductive health and disease prevention education (7th-9th grade), and substance use and abuse. Aligned to our goals for fostering a safe and nurturing learning environment, this requirement ensures positive support for our students' social, emotional, and physical health.

Schools will provide parent notification prior to beginning instruction on these topics. Parents have the right to opt-out of reproductive health and disease prevention education, as well as human trafficking education. If you have questions related to this content, please contact Mrs. Meyer.

The attached document provides an overview for each of the required instructional components and the grade level(s) they are taught
