Bloomingdale High School Families,

This week, we proudly celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week! Teacher Appreciation Week is a special time to recognize and honor the incredible educators who make a difference in the lives of our students each and every day.

Our teachers are truly the heartbeat of our school. Their dedication, passion, and commitment go far beyond the classroom, shaping not only academic success but also the character and future of every student they serve. The impact they make is lasting, meaningful, and deeply appreciated.

I encourage each of you to take a moment this week to reach out and thank a teacher who has made a positive difference in your child’s life. Whether it’s a quick email, a handwritten note, or a kind word, your appreciation means more than you may realize.

Thank you for partnering with us in supporting and celebrating the outstanding educators of Bloomingdale Senior High School.

Go Bulls!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are writing to inform you that state and district testing will begin on Wednesday, April 23. To help you stay informed and prepared, we have created a Sway (see link below) that outlines the testing dates and the specific test being administered on each day. Please take a moment to review the Sway so you and your child know what to expect.

As testing approaches, your support at home can make a big difference. Here are a few helpful tips to support your child:

-Ensure a good night’s sleep each night, especially before testing days.

-Encourage a healthy breakfast on testing mornings.

-Arrive to school on time so students can start the day calmly and without stress.

-Remind your child to do their best, take their time, and read each question carefully.

-Offer encouragement and reassurance—a positive mindset goes a long way.

Daily Attendance Matters!

At Bloomingdale Senior High School, we believe that consistent attendance is key to student success. Every day in class is an opportunity to learn, grow, and stay on track. When students are present, they’re more likely to achieve academic goals, build strong relationships, and prepare for future opportunities. Let’s work together to ensure our students show up, every day, ready to succeed!

Dear Bloomingdale High School Families,

As we enter testing season, I want to share a few updates and reminders as our students prepare for upcoming assessments. AP, AICE, state assessments, and semester exams are right around the corner. In the coming days, a detailed newsletter will be shared with specific testing dates and additional important information to help families plan and stay informed.

Daily attendance is more important than ever. Our teachers are working diligently to prepare students for success, and consistent attendance ensures that students benefit fully from instruction, review, and support. We truly need our students here every day.

Please know that we believe deeply in our students and their ability to succeed. With continued partnership between school and home, I am confident they will rise to the occasion and be successful on their exams!

Thank you for your continued support!

Sincerely,

Dr. Marcos Rodriguez

Important Graduation Requirement Update - House Bill 1105

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We wanted to share a quick update regarding House Bill 1105: this new law eliminates the “certificate of completion” option that was previously available for students who earned credits but had not yet met all state assessment or GPA requirements.

Beginning with the 2025–2026 school year, only students who meet all Florida graduation requirements will be awarded a standard high school diploma—and only those students will be eligible to participate in the commencement ceremony.

If you have any questions about your student’s progress or need support with meeting outstanding requirements, please don’t hesitate to contact our school counseling team. We’re here to support you every step of the way.

Thank you,

Announcement from Our Neighborhood Library:

This year, we will be offering Homework Help for the students who need a place after school to get things done. Additionally, we will have computers available for them to work on projects.

We will not be able to participate in the drop-off/pick-up line. Parents can pick up their children after the pickup line is closed by parking in a parking spot and having their child come out to them, or they can come and collect their child. Additionally, students should park on school grounds and not in the library’s parking lot.
